A Jump in the Water
Rodd Stockwell, MD
Last week, dressed in my winter clothes, I stood by the Okanagan Lake in Kelowna, British Columbia. There was a rim of ice all around the lake and the water was COLD. With a mixture of fear and thrill I set aside my clothes and jumped in the freezing water.
Standing on the shore beforehand I had dismissed the idea of going in - "That's crazy". "What would be the point?" My mind tried to talk me out of it. Once in the water I had a tremendous sense of freedom. I had listened to my Inner Voice and done something just right for me. The glow of purposeful action lasted the whole day. In fact, it is with me still.
My life was dull (some call it comfortable) when I dismissed my Inner Voice. Now new experiences thrill me. What is thrilling in your life? Jump into something new and find out!
It is not easy for everyone to hear their Inner Voice clearly. And yet, I know that each person’s Inner Voice has just the wisdom they need to enjoy life to the fullest.
